I have uploaded our class plasticine relief art projects. We looked at the author Barbara Reid's website and took some inspiration from her. Enjoy!
I have put on a new link on our math page for decimal games for May.
Remember when you are adding and subtracting decimals to line up the decimal point. Check it out! Today we had a guest from The Elizabeth Frye Society talk to the grade 5 students about shoplifting. She had good information regarding the consequences of shoplifting. The students asked great questions and learned a lot.
Students: Please comment on what you learned or were maybe surprised to learn. Family and friends are invited to attend your DARE graduation tomorrow at 10:30 am. It is sure to be a fun event!
You will enjoy this website. You can have some fun with words! It called Wordle and it fun to use with word choice and coming up with new interesting words. The website will place the words in cool designs called "word clouds".
http://www.wordle.net/ We did it! Inglewood School won by submitting the most entries out of all the elementary schools in District 8. In fact we had over 600% participation. Way to Go! We won $250 to donate to CHAT. Well Done!
Here is the link to the district 8 website. Please go on and share what you think is awesome. The school with the most entries will get $250.00 to donate to charity of their choice. Ask family and friends to help us out. You can submit a response as many times as you want!
http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/district8/Pages/default.aspx Hello students! What do you think of English so far? Is it what you expected? Is there anything you would like to change? You can't say tests! We still have to have those.
Next week is the week before our March Break. It will be a busy week with pajama day, hat day, and jersey day. We will be having a popcorn sale on Thursday, March 1st. One bag will cost $1.00. All funds raised will go towards CHAT Hello Grade Five Students!
I have your book boxes all ready to be filled up with great books. Your new writing journals are patiently waiting for you to fill them up! We are going to have a great time this term. What are you most looking forward too for the coming months? You can't say March Break! We have a lot of work to do until then. |
