Happy New Year!
This week students will be working on the reading comprehension strategy - determining importance. Students have been reading passages and answers short answer questions to transition from orally responding to questions to written form answers. We are working on persuasive writing and coming up with topics - 'Why There Should Not Be Homework' - is a popular one.
I encourage you to practice your facts, this week we are dividing by 6. A great strategy is to change your division question into multiplication. We are also talking about time. It is a review for grade 5 and a new outcome for grade 4. Please have your children practicing reading the clock at home, both digital and analog. Ask questions like "How many more minutes until 7 o'clock?".
